  • Alcohol Inks

    Share & Explore: Alcohol Inks – Friday, October 16, 10 am – noon, Port Ludlow Brokers, 40 Teal Lake Rd, Port Ludlow
    Join artist Pamela Raine to try a new art technique or medium before you buy the supplies. Each two-hour session features a demo and a hands-on session. In October, we’ll explore how to use alcohol inks and what you can do with them. All supplies and instructions are provided for a fee. To register, email youcreateart@outlook.com.

  • Artist Joanmarie Eggert

    Program Meeting – Wednesday, October 21, 1 – 3 pm, Port Ludlow Beach Club, 121 Marina View Dr, Port Ludlow
    The PLAL welcomes artist Joanmarie Eggert as the speaker for the October program meeting. A geologist by education and an artist by experience, Joanmarie is inspired by the natural world. Joanmarie states, “I strive to share the essence of a beautiful place, moment, or time.” Joanmarie will lead a hands-on workshop to explore and share ideas to spark creativity. This workshop is perfect for anyone:
    • Looking for creative strategies and techniques
    • Needing a method to overcome the fear of the blank page
    • Dealing with the “ugly teenager” stage of a painting
    • Willing to share their own creative suggestions
    All materials will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring one non-precious object for a community still-life, such as car keys, a rock, or even a jar of pickles. However, all you really need to bring is an open mind and willingness to try something new. Anyone is welcome to attend. No fee for members, $5.00 for non-members.

  • The Wonky Christmas Tree by Shirley Bomgaars

    Acrylic Paint Class – Saturday, November 14, 9:30 am – noon, Bridge Deck, 121 Marina View Dr, Port Ludlow
    We’re going to try something different before we break for the winter holidays. The acrylic painting will be The Wonky Christmas Tree. Attendees will paint the same background but create their own wonky tree. Artists Shirley Bomgaars and Misty Pilgrim will supply examples and guide attendees through the process, while enjoying brunchy sips and nibbles. All supplies and instructions are provided for a fee.   • Open Studio with PLAL Artists and the Resort at Port Ludlow – Wednesday, Nobember 18, 1 – 5 pm, Port Ludlow Inn, 1 Heron Rd, Port Ludlow
    The PLAL and the Resort at Port Ludlow present an Open Studio to our art league’s members, community members, and guests of the resort. This free gathering is a time to draw, paint, sew, knit, complete your latest project, learn from others, share materials, or share a technique. Bring your work in progress and whatever supplies you need to create. For makers at every level, this is a time to devote to your project while also enjoying the company of others.

  • Sumi-e ink painting

    Share & Explore: Sumi-e Ink Painting – Friday, November 20, 10 am – noon, Port Ludlow Brokers, 40 Teal Lake Rd, Port Ludlow
    Join artist Pamela Raine to try a new art technique or medium before you buy the supplies. Each two-hour session features a demo and a hands-on session. In November, we’ll explore Sumi-e, a traditional Japanese form of black ink brush painting that attempts to capture the spirit and essence of a subject instead of creating a representational copy. All supplies and instructions are provided for a fee. To register, email youcreateart@outlook.com.

  • Holiday Art Fair – Saturday, November 21, 10 am – 3 pm, Port Ludlow Inn,1 Heron Rd, Port Ludlow
    Vendors will be set up and ready to help you prepare for the upcoming holiday gift-giving season. Cards, ornaments, jewelry, paintings, special giftables for hostess gifts, and much more. Stroll through both buildings enjoying the decorations, the holiday music, and take a moment to enjoy a tempting treat from the Inn’s restaurant – all guaranteed to set the holiday mood.
