Artist of the Month – Marc McManus

Pear by Marc McManus

Marc earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on painting and art history from the State University of New York College at Oswego. Marc was inspired by Mark Rothko, an abstract painter, Philip Guston, a painter, printmaker, and muralist, and Joseph John Campbell, a professor who worked in comparative mythology and comparative religion.

Marc’s art exhibit features mixed media, painting, and the narrative process—exploring the relationship between our lives and the infinite universe. Marc states, “Including narrative symbolism into each piece speaks to the importance of process and alignment in life. For me, incorporating rhythm, time, and shape highlights the journey of random moments that define who we are and the epic tales that transform our lives.” Marc hopes his artwork will inspire viewers to reflect on the restorative power of creativity and connection.

During January, you can view Marc’s artwork at the Sound Community Bank.

Jeweler of the Month – Pamela Raine
