Artist of the Month – Larry Davidson

Larry’s paintings are created using a multitude of digital brushes and other tools that enable him to paint directly into a digital image. Other areas of Larry’s paintings are developed from extractions of his photographs and watercolors and then added to the composition. Images are then printed on metal, high luster art paper, or canvas and framed to present the final painting.

In producing his art exhibit, Larry took inspiration from botanical gardens, but departed from literal depictions of plant life. Instead, he reimagined florae using new techniques in lighting and rendering with a generous bit of whimsy. Larry hopes to inspire experienced and emerging artists to the innovative techniques associated with digital brushes and mixed media painted directly on images. Without a doubt, viewers will be captivated by his unique approach to the creative process.
