Port Ludlow Art League – Artist of the Month
Featured Artist – Pamela Raine
Pamela’s passion for travel is her primary inspiration for her art. This time, she invites you on her journey from Prague to Budapest.
Since the dawn of the 7th century, the citizens of the Czech lands have endured centuries of shifting borders, religious strife, and foreign occupations. The extraordinary capacity to endure hardship, resist oppression, and reclaim life is a powerful hallmark of the human spirit. This resilience is not just about surviving; it is the pursuit of rebuilding and finding hope in the face of immense adversity.
Pamela’s exhibit offers a refreshing, intimate look at Central Europe through the lens of everyday life. By focusing on daily routines rather than grand monuments, her mixed media work highlights the specific textures, sights, and sounds that give these regions their unique character.
During August, you can view Pamela’s artwork at the Sound Community Bank and online at portludlowart.org.
A reception for Pamela is set for 4 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, August 12 in the lobby of the bank and 5 to 6 p.m. at the adjacent Port Ludlow Art League Gallery.
