Cynthia (Cindy) LeRouge grew up in sensory-rich New Orleans and the rich Cajun culture of her grandparents. This gave her an early appreciation for the possibilities with texture, color, and diverse assemblages that has endured. Her work is full of multi-textural connections among multiple media and juxtaposes natural and synthetic materials. For the past few years, Cynthia has explored mixed media using fiber, needle arts, multiple forms of surface design, and encaustic.
