Brenda finds drawing, specifically portrait drawing, to be a very fulfilling and motivating art form. Brenda uses only graphite and charcoal pencils, ink, and plain drawing paper. While many of her portraits are done from photographs, Brenda also enjoys live drawings. In her portraits, Brenda attempts to capture her subject’s likeness and emotions, intuitively sensing what her model is feeling without consciously analyzing their state of mind.
